Filmmaker Paul Odgren grew up in central Massachusetts, and his career has found him working on narrative and documentary productions in the US and abroad. He has worked as Director, Writer, Producer, Editor, Cinematographer, Composer, and more. He was a shortlist finalist in one of America's leading literary competitions for a piece he wrote when he was nineteen (the William Faulkner- William Wisdom Creative Writing Competition). He also studied astrophysics for two years before leaving undergrad.
Paul wore many hats on the award-winning feature film "The Lost Footage of Leah Sullivan" (2018). He was a Producer on the #1 viewed Star Wars prequel recut in the world titled Star Wars: Vergence in the Force (2015) which received millions of online views. He was a Cinematographer on the feature documentary "The Price of Freedom" (2022) about former NBA star and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Enes Freedom. In 2010, he directed and edited a satirical music video which won a place on SPIN Magazine's Top 20 Music Videos. Paul directed hundreds of multi-camera concert videos at the Heifetz International Music Institute, garnering millions of online views. He directed the comedic short film "Honest Cocktail" which premiered at the Academy Awards-qualifying 2022 HollyShorts Film Festival, winning him a Best Director Award at the 2022 Art is Alive Film Festival.
He was Director of the 48 Hour Film Project horror short film "Black Harvest" which premiered at the Academy Awards-qualifying 2024 Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival and won him a Best Director Award at the Boston 48 Hour Film Project as well as 4 others including Best Movie (2023)
On a personal note, he is a jazz pianist and fan of Scotch whisky.
