House of Pleasure

The talented British-based femme director Anjali Kara directed this stylish "brothel of the future" video, featuring a wide array of talent photographed against striking white-on-white backdrops in a whorehouse catering to women. It's a boy/girl program, with plenty of girl/girl action as well.

My oft-repeated bias is for narrative movies and videos, but these vignettes, knit together by the dominating (quite literally) presence of madam Porcha Sinns (sporting the in-style fake red hairdo, attractive either pulled back or free-flowing) play quite well singly or as a lengthy unit. My crusade against the current all-sex "short story" approach of porn is going nowhere, but I will continue to keep my standards up and even measure gonzo entertainment against them.

With a long roster of femme stars, and a complement of 9 separate sex scenes, this is a full program. Besides Sinns, the spotlight is also on her assistant played by blonde bombshell Tamara Grace, but even the smallest female roles are arresting. Though big-bosom starlets are emphasized (as in virtually all of Kara's shows), the other gals are hot too.

The setting in the studio does not conform with any traditional notions of a whorehouse, but instead has what might be termed retro-futuristic look: reminding me of the '60s look at the future -not so much 2001: A Space Odyssey, but rather low budget British movies like Zeta One. Walls and floors are pure white and plastic white sedan chairs (no legs, but bowl shaped) are upholstered in red, setting off the beauty of the girls, most of whom wear fetish outfits consisting of black patent leather.

I associate this with English fetish, having grown up watching Emma Peel in TV's "The Avengers", and for fantasy purposes Kara has chosen well. I enjoyed seeing my current favorite Louise Jenson in a masturbation turn (cross-cut with stimulating self-adoration by Serenna Clinton). The big showpieces involve big-bust queens Rio Lee and Delta White, both well-suited to gonzo action involving a stud and a hostess thrown in.

As I was taking notes to differentiate the women (whose costuming tends to lessen rather than accentuate their individuality) I kept writing the word "huge", which gives you a feeling for the underlying fetish here - and where the virtual Video rack jobber should file this one. I'm not sure why Kara remains an obscure pornographer but so far I have not run into a loser in her portfolio, and will be adding various of her titles, made over the past 5 years, to IMDb for review and reference.
