This short film takes on ideas of male anxiety and body image in terms of emotional impact on self and sexual performance; it is a topic not often looked at, so the film does have that value, but the short itself doesn't do much with it. The film opens with a nice introduction to the character that gives us small actions and reaction that inform on the challenge without spelling it out. However for the remainder it is very direct and function; it plays out the scene in a way that is honest but lacks nuance or insight in the small details. The hairball suggests it wanted to do something else as part of this, but it never gels and feels like an odd intrusion into the film rather than something that adds a layer of understanding of or insight into the character. It looks good and has a rawness to it, but there isn't much beyond what plays out on the surface - which is very functional.
