The Secret of Stamboul

This film was first telecast on New York City's pioneer television station W2XBS Friday 2 February 1940. It is one of over 200 titles in the list of independent feature films made available for television presentation by Advance Television Pictures announced in Motion Picture Herald 4 April 1942. At this time, television broadcasting was in its infancy, almost totally curtailed by the advent of World War II, and would not continue to develop until 1945-1946. Post-WWII television audiences got their first look at it in both New York City and Washington DC Saturday 9 October 1948 on WNBT (Channel 4) and WNBW (Channel 4), again in New York City Wednesday 17 August 1949 on WPIX (Channel 11), and in Chicago Tuesday 18 January 1949 on WNBQ (Channel 5).

When Larry is brought into the tower as a prisoner, the men holding him are dressed in suits. The next scene shows these men wearing only singlets on their upper bodies.
