It is set in 1848 after the defeat of Mexico against Texas thanks to Sam Huston , and then California becomes in an independent state . In a little town lives poweful authorities : Mariano Vidal Molina , Luis Marin , Antonio Jiménez Escribano who plan to take the gold of the prospectors and exploit the villagers. Then , there appears a stranger called Antonio Sandoval : Charles Quiney who befriends two prospectors : Pasquale Basile , Lea Nanni . Then , Antonio's father, judge Jose Sandoval is killed , then his son seeks for justice and vengeance .
