Herman José brought to life around 20 different characters, each more iconic than the last, creating a true parade of Portuguese archetypes. His versatility and ability to shift between such diverse personas turned him into a kind of "chameleon of humor", from his appearance to the smallest vocal inflections, everything was meticulously crafted to capture the essence of these characters, who often resembled real-life figures. Among the most memorable was, of course, the notorious José Estebes, with that dragged-out accent and self-assured air. Another classic was Tony Silva, the Portuguese music singer with that charming, popular artist vibe, making waves despite a certain "lack of talent." Beyond these, Herman portrayed everything from overly serious TV presenters to melodramatic soap opera characters with Ribatejo accents, high-society figures, and even female characters - at a time when cross-dressing for comedy on Portuguese TV was nearly unthinkable. Each of Herman's characters was created with a blend of absurdity and precision.
