Industrialist (Cremer) makes frequent business trips to (former) East Germany.He is asked by French secret service to facilitate the escape of a former officer(Bennent) who might give a lot of informations about what's going on behind the Wall.The screenplay is not bad,with several unexpected twists,and ironical final lines on the screen illustrate the sentence "setting the fox to mind the geese" .But the directing is listless,the story is never really exciting and this kind of movie ,which thrived in the sixties with "the spy who came in from the cold" had become obsolete in the eighties,four years before the fall of the Berlin wall.For Cremer's and Bennent's fans.the others can do without it.
