I would like to believe that this happens only in Russia and only at that time

I'm not sure about historical events shown in this movie, but love story is fabulous. Russian general have to find and bring back girl claiming her right to the throne. He falls in love. He betrays his heart. One of the greatest movies I have ever watched.
