I am not objective regarding this movie. In this made for TV movie Sharon Gless plays both Betty Wilson and Peggy Lowe, twins. My entire family gathered around the TV that evening to watch this broadcast. My father even came home from work early. Peggy Lowe was both a close family friend and my kindergarten teacher. My mother was the wedding coordinator for Peggy's daughter's wedding. So my review is personal and I have a first hand opinion on how well Sharon Gless played each twin. She was quite good as Peggy who in the press was supposed to be the perfect Southern Bell. Close friends of hers knew another side to her. The movie did not bring out that Peggy had been secretly married before as divorce would have kept her husband from being a church minister of music. At the end of the trial Peggy left that husband and ran away with the author of her tell all book, marrying him and leaving almost no contact with her children. She was not so perfect. Sharon's depiction of Betty was excellent. Betty was greedy, manipulative, arrogant and often rude which in the South is the same as murderous. Overall the movie represented the Betty and Peggy the press had created. True life is always more complicated.
