Alain de Blomette, a young man of means , risks becoming a crook and a thief , under the influence of his mistress Fanny Lacourt. He steals a bracelet, loses at gambling, and contemplates suicide. His family intervenes and sends him to equatorial Africa. Fanny, stubborn, comes to join him there and causes dissension on the plantation.
The follow-up to "Manina ,fille sans voiles," ,Brigitte Bardot's second movie, "l'aventurière du Tchad" is another of those Willy Rozier's incredible melodramas, complete with femme fatale, doomed young hero and final redemption,Based on a similar screenplay as "le bagnard '(1951) in which a doctor who had gambled his money away,was sent to a penal colony and finally redeemed his soul .
A cop has to arrest the poor hero ,who has become an ivory trafficker ;but the villain saves his life !dilemma !
There begins an interminable flashback,displaying the culprti's shady past : a noble young man , whose lover made him an unrepentant gambmer on the French rivieira ( a poor man's Jacques Demy's "la baie des anges"( 1962))Ruined ,sent to Africa (filmed on location on a former French colony) ,he's joined by his evil genius who sows discord among the colons who salivate like Pavlov's dogs .
More interested in his star's physique than in the poor elephants , Rozier includes an extremely erotic sequence in which ,in the tropical heat, Madeleine Lebeau reveals her charms to her former lover , with two peeping toms outside to boot!
