Some people tend to brought up to the matter "Capitães de Abril", by Maria de Medeiros, as the greatest "April 25th" movies!! I happen to disagree!! Sure it is a great movie and all...but she uses a lot of foreign actors on the main roles...with voice dubbing, and I don't like that!! Besides that, she puts things with a very feminist view in the movie, which was absolutely far from the truth!! This movie...is and will be always (even if they make other movies about it) the best movie about April 25th ever, and I tell you why: First of all and you will see that this is really important...you should try to see this movie exactly on April 25th and exactly to start watching it in real time (I don't remember at what time the movie started...but let's say April 24th 10pm...you should start watching it at that hour)....because you will actually feel that that is happening at that moment...it's a very accurate movie in that matter...the sense of real time and real happenings!! Second of all...you'll see that all that is said in the movie...and all facts portrayed in the movie...actually happened...and one of my favorite things is the actual voice participation of Otelo Saraiva de Carvalho in the radio transmissions (and his character perfectly played by António Capelo)!! There is no dramatization...there is no romantic features...no extra-factual things as there is on "Capitães de Abril"!! All that is there...is absolutely factual...and that's why people who saw this get's the sense that really lived that moment!! I must say that when this was done...it was showed on TV on exactly that day and all the movies timing was coordinated with the real time...and that was really the most exciting thing!! You will have a nice surprise when you see this...and I think you'll actually feel what April 25th was in that day...the tension...the suspense...etc!! If you like movies that portrait the reality of things more than the story-play itself...you'll love this movie for sure!!
