The 90s saw a surge in village based formulas to attract rural audience .Karthik topped the list of such movies . He looks good in traditional garb . Kanaka hardly has 2 scenes. she comes for 2 dances and some sob scenes . Srividya is the village head . She has 2 worthless sons . Karthik is the do gooder of the village . When Srividya is about to install her son on the main seat of Panchayat , VK Ramaswamy says that its Karthik who is the first son of the house and he should become the village head. A flash back shows that Karthik's mother was the village head's wife before SriVidya lured him away . Since then Karthik and his mother are living away from the main village suffering abuses and hurdles . A few fights later good wins over evil.
A nice watchable movie . Karthik is very versatile and a treat to watch . I personally found Senthil Goundarmani predictable comedy line very loud .
