This big-deal VCA feature got considerable attention when it was released 2 decades ago, but has not stood the test of time. The pornographer "Antonio Passolini" sabotaged his own work, and should have known better.
It's presented in a serious manner, with superstar Ashlyn Gere introduced attending a group therapy session for divorced women, where she befriends young divorcee Gwen Summers. She later takes Gwen aside and harangues her with a bitter stream of man-hating sentiments and invites her to join her Club Sin.
Rather than a nightclub setting, Gere's Club Sin meets in what looks like a small armory, and similar to a Swingers or Kinkgroup it has the female members put on sex show, with various studs assisting sexually -the women are definitely in charge. Gwen throws her energy into the Club wholeheartedly, but remains skeptical of Gere's methods and concepts.
With a very impressive cast and strong performance by Gere, the movie plays well, BUT every few minutes there is a shot of an old geezer interjecting a "what's going on here?" sentiment, sort of a low-brow objection to the very serious tone of the show in the form of heckling. It's an obvious insult to the viewer, once again assuming that people interested in pornography are idiots.
