There's nothing particularly new or original about the concept behind Road Wars, but it's very different from many other shows of it's kind. Rather than focus solely on crazy encounters of the UK police force (of which there are many!) it travels around the world, from the United States, Australia and Africa. It's a mix of the serious and the more light-hearted stuff but they're all, in their own little way, completely shocking and unbelievable. It's all narrated along by former Corrie star Boardman in his sardonic, condescending manner. The fact that he hasn't had much on-screen acting work since leaving Corrie four years previously is pretty typical of most of it's stars, but he's found a niche here giving the show an air of authenticity that is all his own.

An interesting and thoroughly engaging show that is one of the best Sky One has produced in a long while. ****
