Patty Jenkins had quit the project due to the lengthy development process, and she didn't want to delay filming "Wonder Woman 3" any further. In December 2022, it was reported that "Wonder Woman 3" was not moving forward and considered "dead". This led to Lucasfilm renewing the deal with Jenkins. However, on March 7, 2023, it was announced that the project had been shelved.
