Superagente Makey

Routine and funny comedy with several fun as well as hilarious set pieces , lots of humor , disconcerting scenes and many other things . Initially , set in City of Madrid, capital to Spain . José Miguel Salcedo, nicknamed "Makey" (Leo Harlem) , is a veteran Local Police's officer with 25 years of service . Good-natured and good-hearted but really obstinate and all-by-the-book , then he has a special incident with Real Madrid's football team , as he stops the coach when it was traveling to the most important Spain's sport even t, causing its defeat by absence , it does that his chief and lifelong best friend , Comisaría Cortés (Silvia Abril) to be forced to give Makey bad news : to chose whether retirement , or to be moved as far as possible from Madrid . Transferred to a state-of-art precinct in Estepona, Málaga , Andalusia, south to Spain , where he has to face a super-modern police station with full of unfamiliar new police methods and high technology devices . Makey meets not only his new superior, Comisaría Bonet (Mariam Hernández) , but Willy, a former CEO fallen on disgrace become into in a roguish and hustler man . One day , Makey becomes involved with a drug smuggling issue , resulting in his daughter (Maria Sabaté's film debut) is kidnappped by the Russian mafia and giving him an ultimatum : if in 96 hours mafioso Kolya isn't released from the jail , Lola will be murdered. Then , Makey along with his rogue friend , the bon vivant and scrounger Willy (Jordi Sanchez) decide to rob a jewelry to be imprisoned and in jail to help escape the mobster . Both of whom believe it will be smooth and rapid , but events get worse.

Amusing , funny and very cheerful film filled with action-packed , thrills , hilarious set-pieces, tongu- in-cheek and lots of giggles .The premise is simple and plain , as a misfit , botcher municipal policeman from Madrid is transferred to Estepona where meets his estranged daughter who's kidnapped and he'll stop at nothing to free her , at whatever cost , even entering prison . Director delivers a professional work , his knack of getting the most out of characters and situations without ever going over the top makes for some very big laughters . This production pays tribute to several films , taking parts here and there , such as ¨Cuerpo de Elite¨, and , of course, "Academy Police" movies . But it especially pays tribute to Eighties films , such as : ¨Beverly Hills Cop¨ , ¨48 hours¨ and ¨Die Hard¨ movies . In Superagente Makey stands out Leo Harlem as the sympathetic but naive police officer who gets caught in the middle of a dangerous international drug operation in the Costa del Sol . The jokes come as thick and fast , hit and miss as usual and it is done in good spirit if not always in good taste . Nice picture with accent on sight gags , and humour that stems from the diverting roles established in other movies .There are some nice jokes in the film and the charming cast playing eccentric characters . The likeable cast formed by the motley duo of misfits : Leo Harlem , Jordi Sanchez giving fun interpretation and by the way, creating confusion , laughs and mayhem enough , all around the movie . Support cast is decent with appearances as Sílvia Abril playing Comisaria Cortés who preserves peace and order in the special team , as well as Mariam Hernández , María Sabaté , Manuel Gancedo , Ángel Solo , among others.

It contains an attractive and thrilling score by composer Zacarías M. De la Riva . And colorful and appropriate cinematography by Fran Fernandez , shot on location in Madrid and Estepona . The motion picture was regularly but amusingly directed by Alfonso Sánchez . Here filmmaker delivers a passable comedy , though with no originality , in which the main and support cast are frankly attractive . Alfonso Sanchez is usually a secondary actor , as Cinema as TV , who has played a lot of films in brief but significant interpretations , such as : Ocho Apellidos Catalanes , Ocho Apellidos Vascos , Grupo 7 , Kingdom of heaven , Star Wars episode II , Captain Alatriste , Hospital Central , among others . Alfonso was co-director , writer and co-starring of the successful ¨El mundo es suyo¨(2018) y el mundo es nuestro¨(2012) . Superagente Makey (2020) rating : 5.5/10 . The pic will appeal to Leo Harlem and Jordi Sánchez fans.
