Tommy gets into bed with the right-wing forces of Britain and America, whose plans become clear.
This is a solid episode that lays the foundations for a big finish.
There are some decent plot revelations and it is quite character driven with a considerable focus on Tommy and Arthur. A lot of this sixth series has lingered on the mental state of both characters, particularly Tommy, with dialogue exchanges or atmospheric visuals. It is very well done, but the overarching narrative of the first five episodes now feels like a long setup to the show finale.
Again the political themes surrounding right-wing rhetoric couldn't be more apt for the current climate. I also like the character Jack Nelson's comparison of the aristocracy within British class system to the money-driven American dream, which is as relevant today as it ever was.
The music and imagery is melded together heavily as always. It does feel OTT in this episode, but I have always found this to be a matter of personal taste. This is the audio-visual identity of Peaky Blinders and was somewhat clichéd well before this show began. If you like this aspect of the production though, you will enjoy 'The Road To Hell'.
Cillian Murphy carries this episode well, as he has done frequently this final season, but he is supported well by other cast members.
It's a 7.5/10 for me but I round upwards.

Ep 1 and 4 are the only good episodes I feel, ep 5 was okay, there were some good moments in this episodes without a doubt but some things are ridiculous, Arthur is gone, his entire arc from s1 is out the window, I have lost anything I liked about him.
Michael wasn't to impressive in the episode, I could go on and on but it's a waste, this season, THE LAST SEASON EVER has been such a let down, it seems all it's doing is leading to a huge finale that could be amazing but I just don't understand why the entire season could have been amazing?

There is absolutely nothing happening for the past 5 episodes of any relevancy, if nearly 50% of scenes was cut you'd miss out on nothing, worst penultimate season I've ever seen.
The final season is kinda disappointing for me. No plot twists, excitement, mind tricks etc. Nothing was surprising so far. This is not the Peaky Blinders we used to see in previous seasons.
This episode starts out with a bang-literally and we meet a new character, at this very late date, Duke (Conrad Khan). I am sick to death with the black-hole personality and ceaseless histrionics of Lizzie (Natasha O'Keefe). The brilliant Stephen Graham gets an expanded role. James Frecheville is not very good as Jack Nelson and his accent is worse.
We also get a 'red card' on a soccer (football) match! The spectacular music continues apace. This penultimate episode returns to form after two very dark and slow ones.

- ErroresThe Chinese family supplying opium was speaking Mandarin, but any Chinese living in the Americas, Europe, Singapore, or elsewhere before the mid-1980s would have been speakers of Cantonese, Hokkien, Hakka, etc., mostly from Southern China, not Mandarin speakers from Northern China.
