King of the Narrow Sea is another outstanding episode, as it manages to explore, once again, all the characters in depth. The pacing is very good, and the episode never gets boring or slow, the costumes are perfect, and the acting is still on a top level, with all the actors acting at their best, it will be sad to see Milly Alcock and Emily Carey leave the cast. Viserys is seen with a different light in the episode, emerging as a strong king, Daemon is again very clever and ambiguous, and his chemistry with Rhaenyra is undeniably good. The conflict between the princess and the queen is increasing and hinting to a future war between the two. The episode shows an important theme, treated in an uncommon way: sexuality; there is a constant juxtaposition between Alicent and Rhaenyra and how they live their lives. However, unlike in Game of Thrones, in this episode the nudity scenes are not free and useless at all, they are built to enhance a character's perception or another, developing their attitudes towards the matter. They are not shown for the mere pleasure of the spectator, they are used to tell a story. Overall, the episode shows a lot of everyday life of King's Landing and uses them to teach more to the protagonists, who are often segregated in the Red Keep. The episode remains outstanding, and the problem of the dialogue seems already fixed, leading to an almost perfect development of the characters, that shows once more that this TV series doesn't need dragons to be good, as they are briefly shown in these four episodes; they are almost secondary characters, witnessing that the writing is perfect. I adore the fact that they are using the show to depict the canon version of the book Fire and Blood, as the latter often shows different versions of the same story.
I realized now (after watching the last 2 seasons of game of thrones ) and this episode is that what makes a good TV show or even a movie is not the action or score or visual spectacular or even good acting (of course these 3 elements will enhance the experience) but not necessary make a good show..
what really make a good show is the writing ... I think writers is under paid in this industry, my openion is that they should paid even more than the actors ,
what make this episode the best of all previous 3 is the writing...to prove my point further the last 2 seasons of the game of thrones had it all except the writing , they had good directing excellent picture super score and great acting and still the weren't the best episode of the tv show; simply because the writing wasn't from RR Mmartin books,

This right here is the episode that made me fall in love with HOTD!
It wasn't the dragons, the sets, or the battles.
It was the absolutely amazing story and character building, the payoff is coming in the next episode and I am soooo excited!
What an amazing way to put the pieces in places for the upcoming fight for the throne. The characters are so sly in fighting for the throne, it's just bafflingly good writing that I never seen before even in the original GOT.
Such a witty episode, I freaken love it, each character just had their entire world rocked and I am here for it! Let's go, bring ittt!

This episode, while not majorly eventful, led to the first major domino that will surely dictate the course of the plot. Sort of like Robert dying in GoT (**not saying Viserys dies**).
Great acting, dialogue, cinematography... The pace and quality is akin to early GoT and I am all for it. My one suggestion is to not watch this episode with your parents, or children if you are a parent.
I want to give Milly Alcock a special shoutout because she doesn't have the resume as many of the other major characters, but she is absolutely killing it as Rhaenyra. The characters as a whole are expertly nuanced which really feeds into the gravity of each plot development.
8.8/10.

Another really compelling episode.
On one hand, I hadn't expected certain stuff that happened here to happen until at least the next episode, but on the other hand, that excites me for what's to come. I've not read the book, so please don't smite me when I say I'm going in blindly to this series (huge fan of HBO's Game of Thrones though).
I really dug the way this episode was directed, especially the brothel scene. Claire Kilner did a really good job, and all of the performances from the cast are reliably fantastic. I've said it once and I'll l say it again; Ramin Djwaldi is a musical genius.
I also really enjoyed Alicent and Rhaenyra's scene. It'll be interesting to see how their relationship is handled.
All in all, great stuff. This is some top quality television.

- TriviaWhen Rhaenyra holds the Valyrian steel dagger in fire, inscribed words are revealed: "From my blood come the Prince That Was Promised, and his will be the song of ice and fire"; these are almost the same words Rhaegar Targaryen said about his son Aegon in a vision Daenerys saw at the House of the Undying (A Clash of Kings, chapter 48): "He is the Prince That Was Promised, and his is the song of ice and fire".
