Ovation

I'm pretty sure this is very similar to the Comedian episode of the first season. Famous comedian/ musician magically empowers a lesser known/ struggling artist who becomes instantly famous, but of course, at a cost. Even the way the audience reacts is kind of similar to the first episode of season 1. I guess maybe they wanted to redo the idea with a fresh approach to execute the premise better. Still a decent episode, but seems recycled.

I wish there was more character development of the first girl Fiji to understand her motivation, pain/ suffering or whatever and more background on the Jasmine girl before jumping right into the mystical aspect of it and dragging out the episode. Dialogue could use some work too. I am really rooting for the show and have been bingeing it the last two days. This season seems to have a better grasp on the Thriller/ SciFi aspect of things.

Not great, not bad, it lies between the pit of the show's worst episodes and the summit of its greatest ones.

I'm a huge fan of the Original Series and I don't understand the people who just refuse to give this show any credit. Stop being so narrow minded and blinded by nostalgia.

The message of this episode is not about the two sisters or fame it's about society and people's obsessions with celebrities and how ridiculous it's become.

Rating things low because you don't grasp them is insane.

Actually there is a practical solution to Jasmine's dilemma. Many artists have done that, including The Beatles and Steely Dan. Don't perform live or make TV and radio appearances. Just record all your stuff in the privacy of your studio. No need for fancy engineering and production because people will love your stuff no matter how you sound.

A great concept but where did it go? Nowhere! No suspense, no thriller, no nothing! Wow!
