Kamala discovers more about her powers and meets a potential love interest.
This is an okay episode that for me takes a bit too much time to get the main plot moving.
I think it depends how into the characters and banter you are for how much you will enjoy it. Personally, I don't think they have enough interesting material in this episode to sustain the dialogue exchanges and character introductions for the screen time.
The subject of gender inequality at the mosque is a good idea, but it's not tackled with any real subtlety. Personally I would have portrayed it visually without going as far as making the characters actually discuss it.
I don't think the writers making Kamala turn gooey eyed over a boy strutting in slow motion out of a pool was the best creative decision, as it undermines some of the previous episode's effort at making her a fairly strong-minded, likeable character. However, I might just have forgotten what it's like to be a teenager.
Towards the end of the episode when the plot suddenly explodes to life it does turn very good and there is a nice twist in its tale making one character far more interesting.
All performances are strong and the visuals, as you come to expect from Marvel, are top drawer.

This second episode is just as great at as the first one. This is lovely, escapist, fun with great characters and wonderful dialogue. From the start of the first episode to the end of the second I have a constant nerdy smile on my face and I hope everyone feel the happiness of this show. The pacing is stunningly great, this is quirky, laughingly fun and such a great ride I cannot believe how anyone can give this anything lower than a 7/10.
Those of us who read the first run of Kamala I think we know now where this is heading, at least in part so we also get some comic book-y story here.
I could not be happier with the show, this is way better, much, much better than I could have ever thought. By far the best superhero show Marvel has done for Disney plus, the other shows are far, far behind this masterpiece.
I cannot recommend this enough, you all need to see this, and if you are a teenager this is one of the best most fun escapist TV shows in a long while and you should definitely go see.

After a bright opening episode. The second instalment has Kamala trying to figure out her superpowers with Bruno's help.
Kamala also develops a crush with Kamran, a new senior boy at school. He seems to like her too.
Of course Kamala is now more confident as well. This is shown when she arrives at school.
However government agents maybe on to her as they show an interest in what happened at Avengercon.
I think having a British Muslim showrunner has given a different slant to this Marvel show. There are explorations of various Muslim cultural experience which I did not expect from Disney.
This is shown by both Kamala and her friend Nakia observing that the ladies facilities in the mosque are not as good. The breaking down of the types of people who come to the mosque. I liked the term the Illumin-aunties.
The pacing was slightly uneven. There were nods to the Spiderman movies as Kamala tests her powers. The story also moves forward as maybe a big bad is introduced.

Once again this episode is fun and simple it's well made and good fun. I loved we got to see more ethnic aspects of Kamala's life and it feels really unique. My main complaint is the cgi and at points the show feels shot like a cw show .
This show so far has just been so enjoyable to watch. Love the calm and refreshing nature of the character interactions, and also it's nice seeing other cultures and religions well represented. Some scenes are also directly out of the comic which was really nice to see.
I am just enjoying watching every moment of this, it's a show meant for the younger generation which also means it does not take itself seriously but also means it's a lot of fun! Go and watch!!

- ErroresKamala's mother puts heavy black liner over her left eye while preparing for the festival (she presumably does the right eye off-screen). The black liner is not visible in any subsequent shots.

Yusuf Khan: That's why we moved to America, right? So that our children could be anything that they wanted to be, yeah?
