George W. Bush: Part 1

Think for yourself people. Everything coming out of PBS has a certain liberal viewpoint. It's obvious from the shows they produce.

If anyone thinks PBS is a Stalinist creation then watch this garbage. Fox News couldn't make a better puff piece on a pathetic joke of a man.

FYI-I don't like Reps or Dems.

This is a new low in propaganda. Bush Jr was not intelligent nor hard-working and an obvious puppet who was hated by millions. And his handling of major issues demonstrated this repeatedly. A biography of Clinton would probably be done the same way by them.

PBS like all media outlets in America in comparison to intelligent and independent options available to us online is just worthless.

I believe I have been too critical of President Bush. He led our country through some horrible, difficult events, including September 11, Hurricane Katrina, wars in Iraq & Afghanistan, and a declining economy. At the time, I felt we did not respond correctly, appropriately, and timely. Given today's COVID-19 pandemic and nobody taking a lead role for the U.S., I believe I did not give President Bush the support which he deserves. Thank you to everyone associated with this fine documentary.

I was a big fan of George W. Bush when he was elected. I live in Texas, and he was our governor for six years before becoming president. I had a lot of respect for him. I will admit that his eight years as President were underwhelming, and that has always bothered me. So I was very interested in seeing how that info was portrayed in this documentary.

All in all, this was an excellent recap of his two terms. It covers events that led to how he got there, giving a lot of insight to how he made decisions and who he chose to trust.

I totally understand that he had some bad failures during his administration. But it has always bothered me that people believed that he was uncaring and aloof, as well as unintelligent. I know he came across that way to many, but I never bought it. And I'm glad that this documentary brings out his compassionate side. I'm also glad that history is being more kind to him. He should be held accountable for his failures, and this documentary does that. But there is a HUGE difference between the character of this man compared to Donald Trump.

This is part 1 of a two-part documentary, each being two hours long. I found it interesting, but it really depends on how much you enjoy these types of videos.

This massive two-part doc is the most detailed of its kind I've ever seen - with time for a wide scope and plenty of excellent commentary. The nearest for me is a long bit of work on Kissenger that had me almost admiring him -- but in that the man seemed to dominate with his own oleaginous comments, but here it's not hugely critical of George Jr, but it's hardly a hagiography and many warts remain visible. Congratulations to the team for a sincere total immersion 'slow history' that despite its plodding pace manages to edify and inform. Just find that 5 hours to spare! You might question your previous assumptions about this man. I don't know, maybe any detailed documentary about any holder of the office of President might make you appreciate what a bloody difficult job it is, for any human being.
