Wasn't the worst, but wasn't the best.

This is the perfect example of "there's nothing else on", or "I left the TV on in the background".

You wouldn't try to actively avoid it, but you also wouldn't wait for it to come on either.

You wouldn't find anyone listing it as their all time favourite, nor would you find them listing it as their all time worst.

The best way I can describe it is having a bowl of chips at a restaurant, and them giving you 2 sauces, ketchup and mayo. Obviously you're gonna use one sauce before the other, but it doesn't specifically mean that you hate the other sauce, and you'd probably end up using the other sauce anyway.
