A glorious send off to a terrific series and a wealth of richly drawn characters. A finale that manages to be both fresh and a celebration of all that has gone before. In an increasingly angry world, this show has been a beacon; shining it's warm light on the power of friendship and love. The finale has twists, turns, obstacles, and surprises but ultimately follows a path to a joyful ending. In my opinion, nothing else would have been appropriate as a farewell to this flawed, honest, loving and utterly loved bunch. The only problem I have is with the disbelief that the journey began 17 years ago... I'm smiling but feeling a little old.
This was event TV and you just knew that millions of households around the UK would be settling down, just like we were, in anticipation of one last episode with this beautiful, sweet, funny lot! It did not disappoint!
The acting, as always, was brilliant and the casting is perfection. You can just tell and feel that the whole cast are like a real extended family. Thank you to the writers for delivering EXACTLY what we wanted. It was perfect and surprisingly moving at the end. My only regret is that my imagination will continue to run riot as to what really happened on that infamous fishing trip but some things are best left to the imagination I guess! 10/10 for a Christmas TV special that was just that. Special.

I found this final episode extremely nostalgic. Some of the characters haven't seemed to have aged ie Bryn, Gwen, Nessa, Dave, Smithy; however in real life everything has changed in the last 17 years when it first aired, so it was sweetly nostalgic to see their familiar faces.
Two areas stood out for me. The foam in the pub when we realised we have aged and moved on. Youth is fleeting and it's hard to recreate the past.
Then there was Mick who made me cry twice. Firstly it was his speech where he explained why he saw Smithy as his second son - a real lump in the throat moment. Later I cried again when Mick had to make a decision; it was a poignant moment with Mick clearly trying to support his "second son" to the end. Well done Larry Lamb, amazing actor.
Honestly I don't really like James the late night host but I love him as Smithy. This was a fantastic episode and I will miss these characters so much that I will probably binge watch the whole series again. In the meantime this episode will be watched again tonight to absorb it all. Well done and thank you to all involved.

That was sensational, I can barely put it into words, what a way to end an era, I've laughed and I've cried, a rollercoaster I was thrilled to be on.
It was like settling down with family, it felt warm and familiar, and I couldn't have wished for anything more from a finale.
James & Ruth created something spectacular, it's rare that a comedy grips a whole nation, but I guarantee the UK were connected tonight to watch this finale, it's a beautiful thing they've created.
I was 12 when I watched the first episode of Gavin & Stacey, and now at 29 years old, I get a resolution that puts me in tears, this was everything I wanted and more.
Congratulations on something beautiful.

Great end to an amazing series. Finally got closure on many things. Characters in this really maintained it and the writing was top. There was tons of links to other historic parts of the series there just fitted in well. Was some fantastic comedy moments here which were good even if you were not a fan of the series. It's great they decided to write in this finale to finish off many parts unanswered and it kept it massively on point with the storytelling. I read one review here saying it should be left as it was, sorry mate your wrong and obviously not at all a fan of what this feel good, well written, exceptionally cast and produced series set out to do and has followed through right to the finale all these years later. I'm gutted this is the end but thank you for getting us to the end.

- ErroresWhen Mick is making his speech at the stag do, the pint of beer in his hand goes from full, to two thirds empty, and back to full.
