I found this final episode extremely nostalgic. Some of the characters haven't seemed to have aged ie Bryn, Gwen, Nessa, Dave, Smithy; however in real life everything has changed in the last 17 years when it first aired, so it was sweetly nostalgic to see their familiar faces.
Two areas stood out for me. The foam in the pub when we realised we have aged and moved on. Youth is fleeting and it's hard to recreate the past.
Then there was Mick who made me cry twice. Firstly it was his speech where he explained why he saw Smithy as his second son - a real lump in the throat moment. Later I cried again when Mick had to make a decision; it was a poignant moment with Mick clearly trying to support his "second son" to the end. Well done Larry Lamb, amazing actor.
Honestly I don't really like James the late night host but I love him as Smithy. This was a fantastic episode and I will miss these characters so much that I will probably binge watch the whole series again. In the meantime this episode will be watched again tonight to absorb it all. Well done and thank you to all involved.

That was sensational, I can barely put it into words, what a way to end an era, I've laughed and I've cried, a rollercoaster I was thrilled to be on.
It was like settling down with family, it felt warm and familiar, and I couldn't have wished for anything more from a finale.
James & Ruth created something spectacular, it's rare that a comedy grips a whole nation, but I guarantee the UK were connected tonight to watch this finale, it's a beautiful thing they've created.
I was 12 when I watched the first episode of Gavin & Stacey, and now at 29 years old, I get a resolution that puts me in tears, this was everything I wanted and more.
Congratulations on something beautiful.

Just loved it from beginning to end. Wasn't sure whether revisiting the story one last time would be a mistake, but I'm so pleased that wasn't the case. Funny, sad, rollercoaster episode. A few surprises along the way. Brilliant writing. I didn't think the show needed an extra ending, but I've changed my mind. It does feel like we have an ending now and for it to have been done in such a good way is brilliant. Had a nostalgic feel to it, not just with the characters but with the situations as well. Well worth a watch, I'm sure lots of people will watched tonight. Hope it gets the praise it deserves, just brilliant.
The edge has been lost off the comedy through the years, understandably with the risks of cancel culture, and it shows. However, this show was surely never supposed to be about pushing the comedy envelope. This was pure sentimentality for the huge Gavin and Stacy fan base and gave a perfect ending. Ruth Jones in particular stands head and shoulders above the norm as Nessa, and deserves 10 stars for her acting alone. To be able to make a caricature of a character so believable and make my heart break for her is quite a feat. The speech by Larry Lamb was also a great addition and, I won't lie to you, had me welling up in no time. Thank you to all the brilliant cast and crew for giving us the ending we all wanted.
I was hesitant about there being another last episode but wow. What a great ending and send off for a fantastic show.
Parts had me crying, parts had me laughing, parts had me shocked.
The last 15 minutes really were 10/10.
They wrapped up so many stories and endings for the characters and it was so lovely to watch.
There were amazing nods to other episodes and seasons and it was great to remember those amazing moments.
Having rewatched the whole show from start to finish to finish in preparation and now being able to watch this it was a real joy.
Credit to James Corden and Ruth Jones for such a fantastic show.
