Having not being too familiar with the inception of the Street Fighter franchise or how it became to be one of the highest grossing fighting/ arcade video games of all time, this brief documentary does a very well job in depicting its origins for beginners to further explore.
The main concept in which this documentary explores is the growth of the video game market. It shows when the first initial gave was released (1987) to when the game had its real expansion (1991). From arcade consoles in shopping malls to further home game consoles and each step.
It also has a brief part depicting the first Street Fighter live action Hollywood film (released in 1994) and she'd done background information from the director as well as journalists, voice animators, tech creators and other people working around that time.
Lastly with part towards the end about the more beloved animation film and animated film series which followed the Hollywood film.
What makes this documentary worthwhile both for newcomers or for those die hard fans wanting to relive their nostalgia is that it was well done and we can see a lot of effort went into the making. They have many brief interviews of people speaking on the creator throughout and the editing is well done. For newcomers, perhaps this doc may have turned people into fans wanting to purchases and try these games for the first time. Also it shows a lot of actual footage of the games, and films.
Certainly a documentary which should be seen more for a larger audience as many will enjoy. Currently less than 200 total IMBD votes and only 1 prior review which says a lot.
