¿Sabías que…?
- TriviaThe Sam Elliott character tells the immigrants they are fools for having oxen for their train rather than horses. The truth is that most pioneers used oxen rather than horses for pulling their wagons west, unlike the depiction in most westerns. Oxen are slower but better suited for such a trip because they are stronger, able to endure under duress, are less picky eaters, are more sure-footed, can better pull fully loaded wagons up mountains, are less easily spooked, and, upon arrival at a destination, would be better suited to farm life.
- ErroresMuch of the costuming does not fit the time period, though only off by a decade. For instance, the wrist cuffs worn by Wade and the batwing chaps worn by Shea and Thomas did not come around until 1890. Neither the cuffs nor the chaps would typically be worn in town, as they're only needed on the trail and are incredibly hot to wear. Wooly chaps would not be seen in Texas, as they were for extra cold weather.

I just watched all of Yellowstone in a week and then started this series. Even after the first episode I was enthralled. It is even better than Yellowstone.
The actors are all perfect. The narration is perfect. The settings are perfect. I just can't find a fault in it anywhere.
It does a great job of showing just how untamed the country was back then and why the natives fought so hard to keep it. Such a travesty the way the governments treated them.
I'll certainly be looking for more content from Taylor Sheridan. But first must finish this and then watch 1923. Excited for what's to come.
This is one of the best series I've ever seen.
