This documentary offers an engaging and accessible overview of JFK's life. It does an excellent job of conveying the optimism and inspiration that defined his presidency.
Kennedy was president during one of the most turbulent times in US history. The civil rights movement and the Cold War were at their height. His leadership in navigating these issues was remarkable. His handling of the Cuban Missile Crisis alone makes him a standout president, and the 2 episodes dedicated to it are riveting to watch. I was on the edge of my seat despite knowing the outcome.
JFK was the first president to make full use of television and the media. He was a charismatic speaker who delivered some of the most memorable speeches in American political history.
Despite serving for just under 3 years, JFK's impact on Civil Rights, space exploration and international diplomacy left a legacy of hope and idealism. In death, he became a national symbol.
