Decent, solid first episode with no noticeable smears.
The animation style, which pays homage to the classic 90s series, has undergone some obvious improvements, especially in the smoothness of the animations.
The plot is interesting and well written, with a good balance between action and character development. However, despite these qualities, it lacks some bite, leaving the impression that the series still needs to find its rhythm.
Even the theme song, while nice, fails to achieve the epicness of the classic animated series.
In conclusion, a promising debut, but from which more is expected in future episodes.

The first episode of the series, and I thought it could of been better, however it does show promise and signs of a good Tv show. But in my opinion, I feel like there's been better Batman Shows. With all that said, this was an enjoyable enough show and sets the groundwork for future episodes. So let's review "in treacherous Waters".
Let's start with the animation, which I thought was crisp and smooth, and was very well done. And some of the scenes with the animation looked beutiful, Gotham looked nice. The explosions looked realistic and the animation does a perfect job of that. And so do the humans, the animation fits perfectly into the show.
Next up is the story itself. Which I enjoyed, I thought they did go over board with the explosions but as I said previously they do look wonderfully animated that I never really got bored of seeing one. I enjoyed the performances, Penguin was especially a stand-out and I liked the performance of Batman.
For 25 Minutes, too much does get crammed into one whole story, and the plot moves very quickly, and moves like your on a Plane, yes It really did go that quick! But the action, the set-pieces are also very well done, and it feels like the beggining of Batman, and even though the story is juggling to much, it does have it's entertainment value to it.
For me the story should of been stretched out into maybe a 45 Minute Tv serial, and really develop the Batman and the other characters that have been introduced, despite some of it's short comings, I can't wait to see how they do with the rest of the series.
Would I recommend this Episode?
For it's introduction to Batman, it does a steady job of it, and although I'd of liked to see him being characterised abit more I can't say I didn't enjoy this version, and he was surprisingly very accurate. But the episode does get a lackluster 6 out of 10. Would recommend it slightly.

You can clearly see the tone of the series and the style is quite mysterious and 40's style but that's fine because it's in the 40's every Batman fan should watch it. Children can watch it too but be careful because some scenes are pretty crazy the bat costume is pretty classic but the long ears are new and good.
As a a life-long fan of Bruce Tim's beloved, Batman: The Animated Series, I enjoyed this episode, and not just for the nostalgia. I have a few reservations though, hence the points off.
The art style of this series beautifully recreates that of the original. It even improves in some areas. It seems new technology has allowed for more movement and thus better action scenes.
The storyline is also well executed, delivering a tight neo-noir superhero thriller in a neat 25-minute package. In just a short time we get to know a lot about several major characters we'll be following through the rest of the series.
There are two things I found a bit off putting in this series. First, Harvey Dent is so far being portrayed as a sleazy corrupt prosecutor and a borderline sociopath, which raises the question, how can he have a "good" side when he eventually becomes Two Face? Perhaps they'll develop him more in later episodes or show him have a change of heart? My second issue is with The Penguin, and that's quite simply that they should have just made "Oswalda" a new character. Let's face it The Penguin isn't anyone's favorite villain. Oswalda is nothing like any incarnation of the character I've seen, she's actually better! Instead of slapping a top-hat and tails on her why not just let her be an interesting new original character?
