Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku

When I first heard they would be adding original content, and using the movie to fill in the first 3rd of the 2nd season, I was not happy with the decision. I felt that they should've either made the movie longer with this extra content, or they should've just skipped the movie altogether and just ran directly into the second season with this content. I'm still not happy that they are using the movie to fill in a good portion of this season. It's obvious that they are adding this original content for fan service since everyone fell in love with Rengoku. And I suppose they're also doing it to catch the people up with the story who didn't get a chance to see the movie. I'm just not a fan of this model. It seems like a cop-out/cash grab on the heels of a highly successful movie. With all that said, I was pleasantly surprised with the first episode. They did well with the time that they had. At this point I feel like they should've made the first two episodes out of original content. I know that the story is going to get back on track after the Mugen train arc is over. Once the entertainment district begins, the show will be back to what we all expect and love.

For years, filler in anime tv series, as well as outside of anime, has been widely criticized for its unnecessary and boring plots, with a poor script and both a lack of narrative impact and character development. Naruto, especially Shippuden is the example, all his filler arcs did not concentrate due to his repetitive plots, characters for the most part not very charismatic, his humor, although he contributed something to the secondary characters to increase the emotional weight.

In My hero Academia most of the filler episodes used unnecessary and unfunny fan service with poorly written plots. With all that they are not going to create the best tv series in the world.

Instead this episode shows us how to make a filler chapter; an interesting plot, good character development and a good impact and narrative setting. The writers did very well, hopefully in the future of anime, especially Jujutsu Kaisen, it will have this level of writing in its possible filler episodes.

Even though we already watched the movi, I feel that will be amazing that they will show more about the train, I'm excited for this season.

This episode really encapsulates the honor and politeness of the fire hashira Rengoku. He is kind, witty and has a deep urge to help others without the need for anything in return (maybe something to eat). It is a well-paced first episode that gives the viewer everything to get started on the Mugen train arc. Enjoy the watch!
