Small is beautiful

If you don't have enough time to enjoy a big movie, see Ekjon Jhumur, (Jhumur,the girl). It's a story of an independent-minded, theater-actress's search of her emancipation told superbly in just 44 minutes. I still don't know why the film didn't attract the attention of the feminists. I have seen the film in two episodes on TV. But seeing the IMDb title, I searched for a DVD copy of the film and devoured at just one sitting. The treatment of the sensitive issue on violence on women is a must see for all viewers.

All the casts have performed well except the character of Badsha's wife. Other casts have already carved their niche in the Bengali Film industry. But where have the Director gone?
