I am a general audience member meaning I am not too invested in TV. I gave this show a chance and loved it.
BUZZER BEAT is about a basketball player, and his struggles on and off the court and a bit of romance thrown in. Again these shows are super fun. It's not overrun with sex and sex-scapedes. In many ways Buzzer Beat and J/K-Dramas are throw backs to black and white movies in terms of innocence.
American shows are overrun with sex, sex, sex, violence, violence, violence. I am an 80's action movie watcher and sci-fi nerd and so on, and even I get dissuaded by the onslaught.
The J/K-Dramas are refreshing and fun and usually bright colors. The visual style is reminiscent of American shows like Pushing Daises and The Middle Man.
These dramas can be enjoyed by the family, by couples and by individuals. I really enjoy the easy to watch aspect and these dramas usually have happier endings which is great.
American shows as stated all tend to be the same and really lack authenticity in camera angles and realism. For example in K/J-Dramas you see the hard work. You see people practicing and working hard. America usually uses quick snippets that try to make us believe the characters are doing the hard work, which often comes off as fake.
I give Buzz Beat 10 out of 10. Highly recommended.
