I laughed so hard I wondered if I was actually watching a comedy. None of the character are actually believable. The acting appalling. Script should have been saved for a sitcom and no one knows how to use a firearm. I mean, the girl finds out her aunt and uncle have been murdered and all she cares about is that the agent works at the Whitehouse? Wtf!? And when she put the mirror on the floor- ha! She might as well have just put a sign on the closet door saying "Incredibly dumb victim in here! Lame cliche after lame cliche. Couldn't even finish the first episode. Think I'll just go rewatch The Last of Us.
FBI Agent Peter receives a distress call from Rose, who's aunt and uncle are killed by intruders, Rose witnesses the assailant, and her life is placed on mortal danger, Peter is tasked with keeping her alive.
Great start, within the first five minutes I became hooked, one of those shows I will probably end up binge watching over the next few days. Explosive, exciting, and that ending was bleak.
I may be wrong, but was this a remake of The Bodyguard from The BBC? It certainly feels very familiar, no matter if it is or isn't, it's absorbing TV, the train scenes, the explosions, even the central character, Peter is handsome and clean cut, he even looks a little like Richard Madden.
Gabriel Basso was terrific as Peter, absolutely nailed this performance.
9/10.

The first episode (as far as I've gotten so far) sets the series up as a realistic depiction of political intrigue but has so many unrealistic plot points.
An agent wouldn't take a victim to their personal home.
Why are important back information sitting out on his desk?
Forced dialogue to get the viewer up to speed.
Horrible female actress.
Sloppy scene where he is accosted by thugs on the street.
Very changeable weather - rain, dry, rain, inconsistencies all over the horizon.
I'll give it another episode because the first episode is usually crap because getting viewers up to speed is difficult to do in a natural way. It doesn't look good for thinking viewers.

"The Night Agent" has a fantastic start to the show that manages to encorporate action and emotion that holds the weight to it. I also like how this episode sets up for the rest of the series, so let's dive into the review.
Rose is very well introduced, she and her family have a bond and then something seems to be off, 2 mysterious figures seem to be roaming around outside. After a few mysterious events happen in Pete and Roses lives, that tees up the rest of the series brilliantly. Rose has a good start because some people can relate to her, whilst also feeling bad about what's happened to the character. The sense of mystery and drama is also beautifully weaved into the bit where Rose is scared and frightened.
Pete also has a backstory and that makes it interesting as both characters get to bounce of each other very well. He seems to know what his father was up to, but everyone else tells a different side to the story, so this part is a good plot-point for the rest of the series which is what makes this episode like Beans on Toast, it's just very well thought-out.
I think the episode does a good job of introducing the bad guys and who will be the good guys. The lengths both sides go in makes it fascinating and intense, it's so intense you might wanna put your Tea down so it doesn't spill. The Intense atmosphere holds up and stands on two feet whilst also sharing some of the thrills and more action-packed moments. The run time does a good of that, because the slower moments feel earned whilst incorporating some intense and atmospheric moments that makes the pacing of this episode enjoyable and well-paced.
I'd give it an 8 because the world building is great, and the pacing of the story is also nicely done. It's certainly my Cup of Tea!

I like the premise a lot, the story catches your attention
But the chick is a horrible actress
When she heard her aunt died she goes - everyone loved them
What the?
Hahaha That is such a dumb response No emotion at all
And the scene where the cop opens the closet door and it's not the bad guy is such a 90's rip off The timing didn't make sense at all How do you switch from bad guy to cop in 1 second and the cop doesn't see the bad guy? Come on, the scene was tense and could of been really good But it ended with a let down
The dialogue is clunky at times.
But overall a very entertaining first episode.
