Rain

Best episode since Sleepytime. The music is perfect. Another perfect 7 minutes. Like all of the best Bluey episodes they take something simple and tell a wonderful story.

Yet another example of how critically, criminally underrated this masterpiece of a show is. This is television in its loftiest form, not merely as entertainment, but as pure, unadulterated art. Seldom has the medium of animation seen a work so meticulous and so beautiful tied up neatly into such a concise package. Everything fits - the choice of minimal dialogue, the story arc, the closeup shots, the perfectly timed cutaway to the credits. Not a hair out of place. And the music. Gosh, the music. It tugs at the heartstrings in a way that honestly should be impossible for a kid's show. Like the title says - if Disney had produced this episode as a short film, it would be revered everywhere. The only difference is, for Bluey, this is just another episode. We lucky fans know to expect this level of excellence.

This is such a beautiful episode. The storyline is simple, made up of one of those little moments that may not be social media worthy, but you hold onto between you and your kids.

The lack of dialogue makes it such a calming episode and really points out that it isn't always what we say that makes a moment, but how we choose to engage in it.

I personally think Rain trumps Sleepytime as one of the best episodes (although there's too many amazing episodes to truly pick my absolute favourite), the visuals are stunning and the music is absolutely glorious, having the right mix of calm and cheekiness as Bluey and Chilli navigate a rain storm.
