Every episode just cements some staying power on me.
What's most interesting here is how the main character's get a sense of hope or promise of the life they want to live but that soon gets reverted back and they get plummeted towards rock bottom at a rate where there is nothing they can do to get out.
They get a chance to change in this episode (Danny with the church / Amy with the deal and having the chance to spend more time with her family) but their pride along with their unfortunate situations stray them away from that.
They try to fix their problems only for them to be in a way worse position than they were to start the episode.

This series, and I'm only on series 1 episode 3, has been excellent the moment it started. I am familiar with the actors outside of Beef, and have enjoyed their performances. This is realistic and thought provoking and this particular episode 3 had me emotional seeing Danny cry at church. We need more diverse shows just acting normal not the usual albeit discriminatory portrayal. Good actors all of them. I can't wait for the remaining episodes I'm sure it'll be different than anything I've watched. Please see this as a good reminder to stop hating it just eats you alive. If you like suspenseful peoples issues you'll like this.
Let's talk about the church scene.
I'm not an overly religious person in fact. And I don't love when shoes go to much into religion. But anyone who has felt super down and super stressed the way Cho portrays his character. And the when he started crying in church I was saying out loud "please don't leave. Please don't leave." Because that's what Hollywood tends to do, or that was the predictable move.
So I was so thrilled how it played out.
It was so real. I'm not a church goer but I have cried uncontrollably in church before during service. And it was so genuine and real. And what a phenomenal acting job.

So many twists and turns. And also the Christian plot is done really well. Doesn't feel like your contrived Hollywood phony interpretation of what church feels like. Good tension. Unexpected but satisfying results. Must watch.
I'm still anxious to see how the whole loan thing unfolds. Not sure how this is going to get resolved but I don't think it's going to be good!!!
Couldn't agree more with the hype this show has. Plenty of diversity in the cast and super relevant to todays style. The text / chat interactions are fun to watch and really written well into the timing of the story. All in all give it a shot.

The best episode so far. Intriguing developments were made. That church scene is something else. So powerful it speaks such a profound message with expression and conveys such strong emotion. I really enjoyed this episode. I'm curious to see where things go from here. Steven Yeun you never cease to amaze me. I love you man.
