Definitely watching bimbo is refreshing.. its far from the well-known, extra used cliches in Egyptian TV show..unique mix between local Egyptian 90s nostalgia and the western teen parallel worlds mystery from Archie comics world..and in my my opinion this is how Archie should've been screen adapted instead of the poorly made Dull Riverdale!
Bimbo is an Absolutely hilarious well written comedy tells me that giving chance to new talents will create a great universe of unique digital age dramas and comedies..the BUT in the title only applies to being a very (generation X) series..it is an elitist series (not the political meaning) ..its an group oriented and targeted series..the older generation (and people who like cliches and regular square shows) wont appreciate the genius of Bimbo..definitely recommended fro people who appreciate fresh and new and bold concepts of drama and comedy.
Using visual effects, and (titling), editing techniques is nearly top notch Hollywood standard..using low LED Dual lighting gave a very stylized imagery..usung Egyptian 90s famous pop songs was almost an ear candy for a mid 30s guy like me! ..names choices fits the comic narrative like no other TV show..only reference in freshness here comes to my mind the the genius fantasy comedy from the comic legend Fouad el-Mohandes back in the 60s and 70s when we used to see creativity in well written crime\action comedy..honestly this is how a new digital\streaming age TV shows should look like..
finally i have to tip my hat to the creator of the show (the writer Mohamed Adeeb) and the creative supervisor\visionary the very clever nerdy boy Amr salama for this chance to see such a different and cleverly made (crime comedy) genre production.
And i wont forget the hidden gem in the whole series: the very good (and naturally funny) Wegz the rapper! Hes on the rise to be a giant star soon (he already is in the rap world though).
Actors AND actresses choice was good at best, some actors are very cliche-casted like Mohamed Loutfy but on the other hand casting Abbas Abu elhassan and Suliman Eid and Arfa Adbul Rasoul came out prefect for the refreshing comedy performance.
Seeing Huda El mufti acting is always a pleasure when she give all her best emotionally.
And to be fair also i have to says it: Yes Ahmed (And Hassan) Malek are very likable performers, yest the edge in comedy goes to Ahmed the older brother here.
If your feel hesitant about watching Bimbo, please don't..give it a chance as a unique and one of a kind TV show that is absolute stands apart from the crowd, and for the hilarious\thrilling cliff hanger season end..i will be definitely on alert for a second season.
