The Night of the Hunters

Initially, this episode seems rather bewildering, almost disorienting, and one struggles to understand what the central point of the narrative is.

However, after a long, but necessary preamble, a new and disturbing villain makes his entrance and makes everything much more interesting, giving the plot a sudden and strong direction.

In particular, the raw and gory murder scene stands out, a moment that serves as a manifesto of the series' intentions, finally revealing its identity.

What appeared to be an unfocused episode turns out to be, on the contrary, the best of the series so far, with a powerful and memorable impact.

The pyromaniac's delusion view is the best that this show has to offer. It is visually amazing. That's it. The rest of the story is more and more set-up of how corrupt Gotham is. This show completely ignores the TAS episode which showed that Bullock was an unlikable but honest cop, much to Batman's surprise. No, in this cartoon he as just as utterly corrupt and vile as everyone else.

Again, BatMan is barely in this (or indeed any) episode. Heck, Firefly, the nominal villain of the episode, is just a pawn with no real agency of his own.

Whoever is the driving force of this show has no respect for the source material, nor for the fans.
