The Ties That Grind

Episode 1 delivers all the over-the-top absurdity fans expect, but it also digs deeper into character and emotion showing the series has grown rather than just repeating itself.

Peacemaker season 2 complete the missing dots on what canon/non-canon with great performance from John Cena. It's enjoyable, funny, heartfelt, and brutal. 🔥

I loved the first episode. It is a great opener to season 2. Jhon Cena's acting skills have grown.

Miss the first season intro tho but this one is also good. I heard it will be emotional than the previous season and I can not wait to watch the next episode.

That specific scene was little unnecessary but ok.

The ending was a great hook and there were some good emotional beats, but a lot of the jokes felt forced or fell flat, which is a shame because most of the jokes in Superman hit. Harcourt's character had some goofy lines that were supposed to be hardcore or something, I wasn't a big fan. Didn't like the opening dance number as much either. It worked better with a goofier song. There is potential for better episodes down the road though.

I love that the DCU is hitting the ground running. I loved the new Superman, and am really looking forward to the rest of Peacemaker S2. It's off to a good start, but episode 1 is not an episode you'd want to watch with family. At least during one scene. I don't know how people will respond to the opening credits of the show this season. Season 1's opening credits were very well liked, and was better than S2's opening, in my opinion.

The entertainment sources that were sent an advanced copy of season 2, didn't get the last 3 episodes. Gunn said it was, at the moment, some of the best work he's done. Plus with how easily things get leaked, keeping the last 3 episodes a secret, is the best way Gunn felt he could keep it under wraps, until they air.

Also, with the trash talk about 30 Seconds to Mars in this episode, I'm guessing James Gunn will not be having Jared Leto reprise his role as the Joker. Hah!

They made tweaks and fixes but honestly it didn't feel like much really changed. One thing that bothered me was how forced some of the jokes felt, like they were just thrown in rather than flowing naturally. Still I'm excited to see where things go next and curious about what new characters might show up.
