This first entry in Sweet Sinner's MY DAUGHTER'S BOYFRIEND series sets the standard for older/younger romances, highlighted by a varied, heartfelt performance by Melissa Monet (IMDb just recently changed her name, but that's her on screen!).
It is interesting that writer-director Nica Noelle re-imagined the concept six years later in her new Gay video series as HIS DAUGHTER'S BOYFRIEND, but that offbeat reboot (for Sweet Sinner's brother label Icon Male) suffered from poor acting.
Not so this baby, as happily married Monet (to cameraman Jake Jacobs aka Jay Crew, a cute pun since he is usually a crew member, not in front of the camera) gets hooked on her 18-year-old daughter's new boyfriend James Deen. Only 22 at the time, Deen's performance here is far better than his recent clichéd turns.
As the daughter Trinity Post is fresh and delightful, and you'd never guess she's four years older than co-star Deen. Underplaying (of necessity), Jacobs delivers a geriatric sex scene that has some humor, as when he removes his pants to reveal a massive boner sticking out inside his boxers -a cute sight gag before having at it with Monet.
In high spirits as usual, Nina Hartley guest stars as Monet's best friend, giving her bad advice (encouraging her to bed the young man, infidelity -what's that all about?). She has a genuinely humorous sex scene with her personal trainer, beautifully played as a clueless guy by Christian X.
The show belongs to Monet, who is completely naturalistic as she portrays (seemingly effortlessly) a wide range of emotions, from shyness to seductiveness to ambivalence and finally passion unleashed.
