Solid opening episode.
The highlight for me was definitely the art style and animation. I eat this stuff up. Am artsy protagonist, someone who use to be a Sith Padawan, a droid that kind of steals the show... Some of it is definitely Star Wars 101, but I'm here for beautiful animation and unique "Visions" and that's what I got from this.
I would like to see more Star Wars content about Sith Lords or former Sith Lords. It's an angle that's heavily looked over or not touched on enough. Visions has much of that, which I love, but I want to see Disney/Lucasfilms to more of that in their canon stuff like they did with Dooku in Tales of the Jedi, and Ventress in Clone Wars S3.
Anyway, I liked this. Can't wait for more.

Star Wars Visions season 2 starts with a solid episode about a former Sith being confronted with her past. This is of course nothing special, we have seen it countless of times, but one thing dtands out and that is for sure the art style!
The studio behind it is hispanic and it is the first time a non japanese studio animates a Visions episode. It works pretty good and was a fresh new style! In fact this is what I like the most of the episode. All the different colours look beautiful! I hope the future episodes can keep up with that quality. However we have seen better before, so I expect better to come!

This isn't the best of the season, but it's not the worst. The main character is likable enough. Her droid is extremely likable and probably the best part of the episode. The action is decent. The use of color and music is well thought out and unique. There's enough here to make you curious about the main character's past. The way I judge a lot of these since they are essentially experimental styles and plots is "Would I like to see more of this?" and the answer for this one is yes. How much more, I'm not sure, but there's enough here to keep the audience engaged and curious. It also sets the tone for the rest of the season pretty well.
Well I am amazed at this episode! Creative, with excellent animation/artwork, that has not been seen before in all of my watching history and breaks away from typical animation and anime (don't get me wrong I love anime) bold story line, more of this would be welcomed. I was so very moved by this piece of work. For all those who posted negative thoughts, let's remember this is Star Wars universe and it will be about what has come before in that universe all reimagined in different life/light forces, and wish to follow faithfully with every iteration of it. May the force be with you, 4vr, SY VVV.
As with a lot of anthology series, the first run of "Star Wars Visions" was a mixed bag. Visually they were generally all interesting, but the stories ranged from excellent to baffling. This second run gets off to a solid start with the gorgeous art style of "Sith".
Lola (Ursula Corbero) lives an isolated life, repairing sensors on her planet alongside her companion droid E2. When not working, Lola is completing a grand art piece, but each time she makes progress, a pervasive darkness enters the work. Her former Sith Master (Luis Tosar), arrives and tells her that it's time for her to return to the fold. He attacks, with two warrior droids and Lola is forced to decide about what she wants her life to be going forward.
For this second season, the decision was made to open the concept up to animation studios outside of Japan, and here, Spanish house El Guiri take full opportunity with a stunning and impressionistic look to their admittedly simple story. It reminded me of some of the imagery from "Across The Spider-Verse" both in terms of the hazy, imprecise backgrounds and, more specifically, with the black spots that reflect Lola's' past. So yes, beautiful and with some nice action scenes around both the fights and the bike transport she uses to head out to the sensor array.
It's not a particularly complicated story admittedly, and perhaps it doesn't really need to be, but it's certainly a good additional to the series.
