All the character background and slow burn in the earlier two episodes certainly paid off in this episode. What a great episode full of surprises! The acting was fantastic, especially from Theo James who is really proving his mettle once again after The Time Traveler's Wife. The interaction between Harper and Daphne showed them both in different lights and both were pitch perfect. The story of the two couples is easily my favourite. The introduction of the two new characters would be interesting in the next episode. Mike White is a genius, his dialogues are the best and this is the best show on TV right now.
Expertly scripted, performed, directed, and edited. This show seems superficial but at its core is some really intelligent and subtle humanity.
I wasn't sure about the hype around White Lotus but I'm finding this season to be really intriguing and increasingly savvy.
The casting is very good.
The locale presented in this season, Sicily, is gorgeous. I want to book my own trip to see the filming locations of the Godfather myself.
I think the balance of each character and their relative value to the show is as good as any show I've seen.
The soundtrack and score are also very good.
Looking forward to the rest of this season 2 but also season 3.

Beautiful episode- and it's getting darker.... The light playfulness of the arrival episode is fading quickly and we see the three dimensionality of the characters in this episode. Dominic is starting to see how his actions affect those around him. His son is an overly nice guy who thinks being the polar opposite of his self-diagnosed "sex addicted" father will benefit him, though I think he is in for a rude awakening. The subtext of this episode shows that everyone is lost in their own very specific way. At the end of this episode we see that what comes up must come down. I really want to see more of Valentina's character- hers is actually my favorite of the series so far. Humor so dry it is all but unnoticed by almost every character- and she had such a beautiful scene where she is sitting alone feeding kittens accompanied by the beautiful score that sets this series apart. Bravo.
I'm so glad this season got good a lot sooner than the first season. I was a bit nervous going into episode three expecting the plot for each group of people to crawl along. The dynamic of each character within their respective groups is getting complex. I'm starting to enjoy the good-looking couples of the Sullivan's and the Spiller's. You can tell Cameron is a horrible influence on Ethan so it will be interesting to see if Ethan will commit to doing horrible things behind his wife's back. The Di Grasso's are also fun to follow between three generations. I'm nervous for the youngest one because he's not picking up on signs when talking with women. Tanya is hilarious as always and quite a mess to follow. The cinematography might have been the best all season and possibly for the entire series with this specific episode too. 4/5 stars.
I'm up to episode 3 and it is so boringly bad, and depressing. It has none of the mystery, drama, intrigue and humor of the first season I'm afraid. Very surprised (without reading the reviews yet) how people have been liking this. And scores are so high. The actors themselves seem to be walking around going why the hell did I agree to do this? They seem totally bored and their acting is one dimensional. Even Jennifer Coolidge - who I think was not a good decision to return her character- who became so far with her character's life last season. It's like if she doesn't kill herself I want to myself. It is like a caricature of herself. In fact all the characters seem quite caricatureistic or down right listless. I hope it gets better but I have my doubts.

- TriviaThe scene wherein Harper is being ogled by a large number of men in the Sicilian city of Noto pays homage to Michelangelo Antonioni's film La aventura (1960). A shot-for-shot recreation, it was even filmed in the exact same location. According to the series creator Mike White, it was cinematographer Xavier Grobet's idea to pay homage to the classic Italian film when they were shooting in Noto and realized they were standing in the same plaza where the original scene from the film was shot. Speaking to Variety magazine, White explained the homage was fitting since the third episode is about "men and women and some of the classic sexual politics dynamics." Aubrey Plaza, a self-professed "film nerd," told Decider it was "an honor to get to pretend to be Monica Vitti in some weird, bizarre way."
- ErroresThe bag set between the two women when they get in the car before their tour is missing in scene as they depart the hotel.
