You should give this movie a try and don't mind the bad ratings. It has romance, it has entertainment and good music. The villain is funny too: some momma's boy archeologist in his 50s who tries to become famous by capturing mummies.
The kids should rate this movie, not the parents. We can clearly see that the parents give low rating for no good reason. I read a review where someone gave 1/10 for the only fact that the voice acting was bad. The voice acting was not bad at all. You can clearly understand and hear what they are saying. It's an animated movie for kids. It had humor and there is no swearing.

I never write reviews but for now it felt necessary. I had very low expectations due to reading earlier reviews on IMDB but actually, this movie isn't that bad. It is a kids movie and my kids and I liked it. It is not a block buster as Frozen etc but still just a funny movie. Storyline is easy, but is was funny and my kids (3 and 5) laughed and were intrigued by the story. It is just a funny kids movie easily to watch. Would definitely recommend.
I have seen far worse kids movies (Maya the Bee, Superpets for example). During that movies I checked my watch regularly and noticed that my kids got distracted. But they really liked this one from beginning to end.

I don't normally review movies but thought the bad reviews was pretty unjustified. So figured I would do one.
First off, I quite liked the visuals of the film, you could tell they put a lot of work into the sets they used. Was is Avatar levels of good? Certainly not, but nonetheless was certainly good. Had quite colourful visuals and wasn't distracting in the way some newer cgi movies can be.
The voice acting I thought was quite good. Especially the two leads, they conveyed emotion quite well, which can be challenging for some voice actors. They knew the sort of story they wanted to tell and I think they did wonderfully.
After reading a few reviews it seems like many didn't even watch the movie. No mummies? There was plenty! They.even explain and show off the fact that they use magic to hide their undeadness.. Is even a plot point the villain hopes to use. Which upon thinking about it, would you want to spend literally thousands of years looking at the sunken and rotting face of your neighbours, kids or even significant other? Probably not right?
But it seems some couldn't even figure that part out when it is clearly shown in the movie.
Overall I thought the movie was quite good. It was fun and had a few funny moments. Was it perhaps for me? Certainly not, but it is my kids that is the audience after all. Which for me in the end, is all that matters. If my kids have fun.

OK...
I watched this movie not knowing anything about it.
So are there some glaring issues, yea, but then once I heard about the fact this movie was made for $12 million and not $200 MILLION like sooooo many of todays movies, I gave it a TON more credit.
Its a typical kids movie, 'something happens, they go on an adventure to solve the issue, everyone is happy at the end'.
There is one issue that needs correcting, but with a $12 million budget, I can let it slide and for 4-9 yr old kids, they probably wouldn't notice anyways.
A decent non Woke movie that you can enjoy with the kids. I rate movies starting at a 5 and go UP or DOWN from there. This is a solid 5.5 out of 10.
Grab the popcorn and enjoy 90 minutes of family fun.

An excellent dramatic plot...a wonderful sequence of events by Thoth and Nefer...a different and varied performance by Sekhem and Denis. Wonderful sound effects.. The graphics were consistent and not vulgar.. The story helps adults and children to understand the ancient Egyptian civilization away from lies and allegations in a smooth and simplified manner. The visual effects were consistent with the auditory effects, and the script was interesting, as you do not feel the time of the movie.
This film is a unique and integrated piece of art.. With such films, cinema becomes a cultural and dramatic beacon that is more than wonderful.
