L'âme Perdue

Everyone on here complaining about the French speaking English, do you want the whole show to be in French? Have a little bit of suspension of disbelief. Great pilot episode and Norman Reedus is amazing as always. Super cool shots of France and cool introduction to a new variant type. Laurent really seems like a good child actor. Those 2 new villains really seem scary. Very excited to see where this show goes.

Honestly I was surprised by how good it was. It gave me everything I wanted in a Walking Dead Spinoff. It gave me dialogue that felt real, Daryl feels like Daryl again and a plot that actually connects to the big universe unlike dead city. They did a push a few things but I feel like it will payoff and in the end and the ending of this episode has me hyped. I haven't felt good about a series premiere of TWD universe since TWD and FearTWD. I hope to see more and Norman Reedus and the cast did super well. Oh and the cinematography was sooo good I mean damn!! The only thing I would say that is a negative is if the side characters are not important like in dead city it might lower my rating for this episode.

Wasn't to bad except for the fact that the new "bad guys" found it easier to use weapons from the 1800s and ww2 than use actual guns from 10 years ago (or whenever the show started) that they can actually acquire and yes i know guns run out of ammo but i'm sure it's harder to find muskets and gunpowder than it is to find actual bullets.

(You don't really need to read this paragraph i'm just trying to fill in the minimum character limit of 600 letters.). But the main question is why is daryl in france i hope we get to actually find out why and we don't get left to try and figure it out ourselves by watching theory videos just because the writers were to lazy to tell us.

Overall a fine start for the show imo 7.5/10.

One of the worst episodes of twd, we went from a zombie apocalypse to a program they would put on in church. The episode also starts well, with Daryl going to discover France, lost and disoriented, he knows that this is not his place, the problem begins when he meets the new burned zombies, whose origin is not clear given that explaining , to the screenwriters, it was too difficult, and it is no coincidence that I say this because there will also be a mini conversation about them.

The screenplay is forced on every front, the villains have 0 personality and are always ready to be at the wrong time in the place where, obviously, the various protagonists are, as if they had a radar. The convent subplot is horrible, the new characters are written randomly, just to expand the series, the nuns are all stupid, the deaths are inoperable and the episode is not good. The only positive note I can give is that Daryl has remained the same as the original series and is starting an evolution that can draw interest.

Daryl Dixon episode 1 "L'âme Perdue" takes The Walking Dead universe into a much needed stunning brand new world. We are introduced to a whole new setting in france with different variants of walkers. In the very first two seasons of The Walking Dead we were given walkers who could run and climb, who we then didn't see again until the final season of the flagship show. Daryl Dixon finally explores walker variants again which offers an exciting new chapter to The Walking Dead universe. In this first episode we see one new type of walker that hasn't been seen on the flagship. My favorite part of this series is not only the fresh new setting but also the fresh characters such as Isabel. This first episode sets the tone of the show from the variant walkers to the beautiful scenery and epic fight at the end of the episode. One thing this episode has taught me is that nuns don't play around.
