- TriviaMichael Schur was inspired to create "A Man On the Inside" after watching Chilean documentary "The Mole Agent". He says: "The Mole Agent" documentary is powerful because it makes people feel something remarkably similar across any age, ethnicity or gender, and I'd describe that feeling in a very reductive way as, "I've got to call my mom." In our show, we tried to do a similar thing with the tone: Basically, does our show contribute to that feeling of making us want to call our moms?

Since we are being honest, I will admit at first gander, I wasn't really sure the show was something I'd be remotely interested in but somehow, it managed to lure me in. Before you know it, you find yourself so invested that you just gotta know whodunit! All the characters are extremely easy to love, and so recognizable with a person in your life.
It's also a gentle reminder that we are all here trying to do the same thing, live & enjoy life, so we might as well do our best to get along and most especially be kind to one another. My favorite show quote is "Every great thing in your life, looking back on it, feels like a miracle." Very poetic because it resonates within all of us.
Will also admit it was a tad bit strange seeing Ted Danson in that role especially when you're used to him as the Cheers character "Sam"; but very early on "Charles" tugs at your heart strings leaving no sad reminders of "Sam." A bittersweet, yet tender, reminder that Father Time plays no favorites.
Hope you do watch it, and that you recognize & empathize the daily challenges some in our society, in our lives live with daily.
Its a nice change of pace, leaving no guilt for enjoying another "crime" show.
