I worked with Cynthia Rothrock and had a fight scene with her on Sworn to Justice in 1996. Honestly, as much as I enjoyed her movies over the decades...this was my absolute favorite. The story, acting, and production were very well done. I know about 1/3 of the people in the film. But Richard Norton has been a dear friend of mine for 27 years. I'm still very heartbroken by his loss, but I'm happy, thanks to Cynthia, that he left us on a high acting note. This was his finest acting performance ever, and yours too. Thank you for taking great care in putting this production together. I admire you and your vision.
At any rate...BRAVO on Black Creek. It is a very good one. Best Western I've seen in years. And a strong female lead in this genre, I don't believe, has ever been done before.
Warm regards, Ray Normandin.

Saddle up, because Cynthia Rothrock's Black Creek is finally here!
As a big western fan, this movie steeped me in the old west, and kept me there throughout its runtime (which flew by). Of course the fight scenes did not disappoint, and I love how Rose still bothered to carry a gun. I couldn't stop watching this even if I wished to. I'm diseased, sick with the fever to witness potty-mouthed Rose Jennings kicking ass. And what a phenomenal final performance by Richard Norton. It's got to be his best role by far.
Every penny ended up on the screen as expected. This is truly something special - the very definition of a passion project.
Bring on Part 2!

I'll be honest-I went into Black Creek thinking this was going to be a respectful nod to all of us who've stuck with Cynthia Rothrock through the years. A little nostalgia, a couple of signature kicks, and a reminder of why she's a legend.
But she went above and beyond.
Yes, the nostalgia is there-those fight beats, that no-nonsense stare, the quiet intensity before the storm-it all hits in the best way.
But what I didn't expect was just how much grit, power, and heart Rothrock still brings to the screen. This isn't just a tribute to her past roles-this is a legit action film with real stakes, solid performances, and a leading lady who hasn't missed a step.
The fight scenes are raw, grounded, and tight-no flash just for the sake of flash. Every move feels earned. She's not just here to show up-she's here to remind everyone that she still sets the standard.
And let's not ignore the emotional depth she brings to this one. There's a weight to her character that makes you lean in between the punches. She wears experience like armor-both on-screen and off-and it shows.
So, to Cynthia: thank you for not phoning it in. Thank you for showing up and still giving it your all. And thank you for continuing to be the Lady Dragon we all fell in love with.
Final verdict: 9/10 stars - a powerful return that doesn't rely on the past but earns every minute of the present.

I had the unique pleasure of attending the premiere of Black Creek in Los Angeles last October, and I've been thinking about it ever since. A movie created by the legendary Cynthia Rothrock, Black Creek is a bold, genre-blending film that feels like a landmark moment in martial arts cinema. To put it simply: this isn't just a martial arts movie - it's a martial arts western, and possibly the first of its kind.
What makes Black Creek stand out is how it refuses to be defined by just one genre. Yes, there are the thrilling fight scenes you'd expect from Rothrock, delivered with her signature precision and power. But beyond the combat, there's a real story here - one grounded in emotion, family, justice, and redemption. The dusty, lawless frontier setting adds texture and mood that elevates the entire film.
Rothrock proves once again that she's not only an action icon, but a true storyteller. Her character is compelling, complex, and rooted in a sense of purpose. The film doesn't rely solely on fists and kicks to move the plot forward - it uses drama, tension, and character development. That's a rare achievement in action cinema.
Black Creek breaks new ground, and it does so with style and sincerity. It's a film that pays homage to both the western and martial arts traditions while creating something entirely fresh. For longtime fans of Cynthia Rothrock, this movie is a gift. For newcomers, it's a perfect introduction to what she can do when given creative control.
In a world where Hollywood keep releasing the same old action films, Black Creek rides in like a breath of fresh air - bold, unique, and unforgettable.

This is a Fantastic movie and I would highly recommend it to anyone watching an Action movie. It stars some of the best Martial Artists in the world. This is a great film with a lot of amazing characters and great action.watching Cynthia Rothrock and Richard Norton have great chemistry on screen is fantastic so is Don the Dragon Wilson playing his part and the same for Benny the Jet Rodriguez. Keith Vitali had an awesome fight seen with Benny. Overall this was a fun one to watch and I think people will enjoy watching it. The film brings you back to old Western of yesteryears. So sit back and enjoy.
