I can't understand why this episode is getting such high reviews. It's one of the most bland and unbelievable episodes I've ever seen. By now, you would think people have survived for many years, navigating conflicts and attacks from crazy factions. Yet, Carol meets a guy who seems overly friendly and easily manipulated, allowing her to stay alone in his fortress. This contradicts what we've learned from The Walking Dead, where the greatest threat is other people.
This episode felt dull, reminiscent of Fear the Walking Dead, yet somehow it's receiving positive reviews. I'm beginning to think it's either die-hard Daryl Dixon fans willing to accept anything for more screen time with him or possibly an influx of fake reviews from the studio. I do love The Walking Dead, and I absolutely adored its first season, but this episode falls short. Despite this disappointment, I'm still willing to give the show a chance.

MELISSSAAAAAAA MCBRIDE WELCOME BACK I LOVE THE EPPPPP SO MUCH.
In episode 1 of "DD: TBOC S2," Melissa McBride's acting really shines. Carol is the main focus in this episode, and I absolutely love that-I definitely want to see more of her! Her presence is felt throughout the ep , and you can really see the emotional weight she carries from everything that's happened in the past. The way she mixes strength with vulnerability adds so much depth to her scenes. It's obvious she's still dealing with her truma, which makes her character super relatable and engaging. Melissa's performance keeps me invested in Carol's journey, and she truly makes Carol a standout character that I can't help but root for. I really enjoy her scenes with Ash too!
I can't wait to see the rest of the episodes!

Wow what an episode! First let me say how much I love having Carol back, she was severely missed in the first season. I enjoyed season 1 overall, but things can only get better when you add the talents of Melissa McBride into the mix. And man did she deliver this episode. Lots of the great, clever action moments we have come to expect from Carol, mixed in with some quietly devastating ones as well. She just owned the entire episode. And I think we have a great new duo with Carol and Ash! I found their dynamic so interesting and I really can't wait to see where their storyline goes.
Not too much was happening with Daryl in France but I'm sure that will pick up next episode. It was expected that Carol's story is the more intriguing one now because we want to know what's going on with her and how she'll get to France. I'm really excited to see her get there, but I'll definitely enjoy her journey there just as much. I'm sure when the Carol and Daryl reunion happens it will be well earned! Overall it was such a strong start to the season and I'm beyond excited for what's to come!

Welcome back melissa!! Thank you for bringing me back to the Walking Dead Universe. Spin off!? The book of carol is the best yet!! The pace was perfect, the action, the comedy, the chemistry between ash and carol. Seeing Carol still grieving her daughter and going through the emotions brought tears to my eyes. Give Melissa more power, she knows what she's doing and she knows what we want. I'm really satisfied.
Yeah norman is playing himself, daryl is no where to be found on my screen, and its sad. He took 10 step back in his growth. Very OOC and too much like norman. Start hiding the tattoos.

TWD just really isn't anything special anymore, you can watch it but it will never be as good as 2010s, but what baffles me is the amount of 10/10 reviews, I mean come on, you're saying this episode is a perfect 10?
It's great to see Carol back in action it's been quite a while, this episode felt really dragged but it amused me a bit more towards the end.
Overall this episode felt very cliché and honestly it feels like they rely so much on callbacks it's a bit unnecessary.
This episode was pretty mediocre, but it wasn't terrible, and it certainly wasn't a 10, like I said, it's watchable, but the quality isn't really there.

- TriviaWhile the scenes on the farm are set in America, the scenes were actually shot in France. Director Greg Nicotero stated that they had to find a farm that could pass as being American.
- ErroresWhen Carol leaves the gas station and takes the car she tells the 3 men that their friend Mick is in the trunk of a Dodge nearby, when he was put in the trunk (last scene in season 1) it was in a Ford Mustang.
