This was a decent opener for this new season. The story is good, but it was not the best, just feel a little empty.
I have to say i find a little bit unrealistic how Miss Belinda is literally kidnapped for robots and she just accepts it somehow, like it's a normal thing.
I hope the next episode could surpass the expectations, this serie has an enormous potential.
The visuals were amazing, same quality as the first season and i certainly love that.
Really love the endings with that little "taste" for the upcoming episode.
To end this review; i felt like it was nothing new but it was still entertaining.

Exceptional casting, great and better dialogue, and some fun mystery surrounding the arc and how the realities are effected and in danger. The story is tight, pact with emotions left right and centre. The Doctor and Belinda showcasing some chemistry, a mix of anger, happiness, scaryness and confusion was portrayed brilliantly here. Because it didn't take much time on explaining, the things were taking centre stage and the acting was mostly superb throughout.
Varada Sethu and Ncuti Gatwa shone bright as-well. Their chemistry as I said was Fantastic, their charm and charismatic performances lifts up a slightly Uneventful first-outing. But the quips and the energy they bounced off of each other Exceptionally well due to the bickering, the constant ideas, and the strange scenarios they were put through, and the acting was superb throughout. We already know she's a nurse, we know she acts tough and can do things alone, and we know she likes helping others and stands-up for herself. These character-traits have already been pushed through and that was amazing to see how developed she was.
Also, I gotta say, the space ship and the Robots were cool, classy and vibrant with a mixture of different colours. Whilst the history was great, the villains didn't give much offerings. But they were serviceable enough and entertained with their bright colors and mixture of emotions too made them interesting as a pose to a real threat. Which I did like a different approach, they'd like to just get things done, and dilly-daly back to their grounds. So, be cautious if you ever encounter one, you might see a surprise.
Mrs Flood bearly appeared, but her presence was creepy enough, I wonder how the Doctor couldn't notice her. And the time distortions was a nice and clever twist on the sci-fi genre. Space looked amazing, and seeing it made it warm and whimsical with nice effects and camera-play to lens in on the sky. And it be beautifully dark and crisp. Sort of gave it that mysterious vibe just like Mrs Flood. The ending climax also leads into the mystery and the first outing Is meant to get you hooked for the next chapter, and it certainly provided that, that's why it gets high marks and praise from me, as I was always om my toes expecting some nice corny dialogue and a few twists and turns.
I really did enjoy the pacing, the plot and the few twists. I liked seeing the final few minutes with the distortions. The chemistry also at the start could of been more drawn-out as it had a good emphasis on the story. And the real them was engaging to watch unfold. Props also which gave it the grade-up was the Trailer not spoiling much and offered a unique approach. Very, well-executed.
I'd give this episode an 8 out of 10 Because it mastered the wonder and optimism, and the arc looks interesting and entertaining with the 2 main-leads showing strong-character work with top-performances and amazing chemistry with a superbly well-rounded companion. Very intrigued, some decent enough villainous moments as-well. Very Good.

That's how you should introduce a new companion and season. Definitely an intriguing start that can hopefully maintain this tone. A compelling episode that definitely subververting initial expectations into an interesting narrative. While I can admit that the first revelation of the main plot of the episode did make me chuckle by the end of the episode is left me regained my attention. The episode has it's doctor and companion introduction moments while feeling somewhat fresh and interesting reaction that should definitely be enlightening going forward with the season. The favourite moment for me during this episode was the moment between sasha 55 and the doctor that tells you everything you need to know about the implications that come with the trusting the doctor. Finally, I didn't see anything.
The latest episode of Doctor Who delivers a breathless, action-packed opening to the new season, setting the stage for what promises to be an electrifying chapter in the Doctor's adventures. Fast-paced, sharply written, and brimming with excitement, this premiere strikes the perfect balance between fresh energy and classic Who charm.
One of the standout elements is the new companion, who immediately makes a powerful impression-both in performance and character. She brings a compelling strength and presence that feels like it will recalibrate the dynamic between her and the Doctor. There's a spark of equality in their rapport, reminiscent of Clara's tenure (a companion who, admittedly, divided fans but whose assertiveness and wit I always admired). If this premiere is any indication, we're in for a fascinating push-and-pull between the two leads-one that could redefine the Doctor-Companion power balance in exciting ways.
The writing is tight, the pacing relentless, and the sense of adventure infectious. If the season maintains this level of quality-keeping the stakes high, the character dynamics sharp, and the storytelling bold-then we're in for an exciting ride.
Bring on the next episode-the TARDIS is back in top form!

The second season of rebooted, rebooted, Who starts with an introduction to a new companion and the setting up of some fun looking season arcs, but perhaps that comes at the expense of the development of the actual episode.
Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu) is gifted a star by her teenage boyfriend Alan (Jonny Green). Seventeen years later, the robotic inhabitants of the planet come to Earth and force Belinda to come to the planet, named Missbelindachanda 1, to become their Queen. She is pursued by The Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) but through a time Vortex, he ends up arriving six months prior to her and setting himself up in the court. They learn that the robots have enslaved a humanoid species that they used to live peacefully alongside, until an A. I. took control of them.
So, the actual episode, whilst not having anything particularly wrong with it, felt like it had some rather undercooked ideas. The robots not hearing every 9th word is fun but underutilised and the reveals about the A. I. had some potential but again I don't feel the motivations behind the character actions on the planet were satisfactorily explained. However, I do like all the season arc stories that a seeded in this episode. There's the return of Mrs Flood - who is she, and has she moved or does Belinda live a couple of doors down from Ruby? Then there's the business about being unable to return to the 24th of May, what does that mean and how does the episodes final moments feed into that.
I did like Belinda immediately though. I like that she's a different dynamic to a lot of the other companions in that she doesn't seem taken with the idea of travelling in space and time and is focused on getting home. She does though seem to be a little like Martha (the last second companion that Russell T Davies wrote for) in that she's a nurse and has practical skills that can be used in, for example, an uprising against the robots.
Not a classic episode, but perhaps one that points towards stronger stuff to come.

¿Sabías que…?
- TriviaIt was the episode Boom (2024) that inspired Russell T. Davies to cast Varada Sethu as Belinda. She wasn't initially going to have a bigger role, let alone going to be a companion in the show. But during the post-production of that episode, Davies was very impressed by her performance. He started to regret that he didn't write more stories for her, until he remembered that in Doctor Who certain actors had appeared in other roles before they were cast as companions. That inspired him to ask the production team about bringing Sethu back to the show. To his surprise, he immediately got their approval.
- ErroresWhen the robots return the Tardis, Belinda asks the Doctor "Is this your Tardis?" However, he had not referred to it by name before then and merely called it "my spaceship".
