The first episode of Reacher series three dashes out of the gate with a bang.
Reacher goes to a record store to sell vinyls no one wants to buy. He ends up saving nerdy Richard Beck from getting kidnapped. Reacher even ends up shooting a cop dead.
His father Zachary Beck (Anthony Michael Hall) is in the oriental rug business but he has enhanced security. This includes a hostile man mountain Paulie, who takes an immediate dislike to Reacher.
By now the viewers know Reacher has the knack for finding trouble. Here there is a lot more to the opening scenes.
The pace slackens a little for the exposition but this looks like to be an exciting instalment.

Just finished the first episode and it's definitely an improvement over season 2 but this new character " susan " is annoying and irritating.
It seems like the writers made her a girl-boss type character which she isn't in the novels And if they stick to that in the upcoming episodes then ouch.
I genuinely have nothing against the actress or the fact that she's a girl but these writers man.. they always fail to write a good female character.. always.
If u want a good example of how to write a good female character.. Kim Wexler.
Anyway so far this is a good start to the season and I'm excited for the next episodes.

No offense to the Scottish actress who plays Susan Duffy, but her accent is as bad as Dick Van Dyke's Cockney role in Mary Poppins. I'll admit the season opener grabbed my attention , but her character is such a distraction, it makes it hard to watch. Surely there was an Boston area actress available for this role. Normally the viewer roots for Reacher and the lead woman to get together romantically, but not this time. It's also a shame that is apparently more cost effective to shoot movies in Canada than the United States. For me, it takes away from is authenticity. But my wife and I will watch the entire season as we can relax together and enjoy it for what it is.
I remember watching the trailer for season three and waiting for months for it to finally come out. And here it it. Today the highly anticipated third season of Reacher returns.
This episode is probably the best pilot the show's seen so far. It was instantly into the action with a mysterious aspect of what's actually happening. The opening scene was perfection! Seeing it begin at the end and watch the build-up to the point where we ended off was great. The new characters are looking to be pretty cool, with the likes of Richard, the FBI agents and my most anticipated one, Paulie. It's a great concept to have as now Reacher can't rely on the fact that he's bigger and stronger, because now he's not...
A super opening episode and an excellent start to what I hope will be another great season.

I Love the Jack Reacher books, and the first season was excellent. This season is of course a great story, but the script is contrived and weak. The very worst part though is the acting of the female lead Sonya Cassidy and her sidekick Roberto Montesinos, they deliver their lines like they're just relieved that they remembered them at all. Sadly there is zero sexual chemistry between Reacher and Duffy and their intimate scenes are clunky and ridiculous. I'm astonished that the director let some scenes through at all. Alan Ritchson is not a great actor but passable in a role he is built for. I hope this series continues but these stories deserve and need better actors and far better screenwriters.
¿Sabías que…?
- TriviaThe Ethel Merman disco album really does exist. In fact, the vinyl version is highly sought by collectors.
- ErroresIn the opening scene when Reacher says that "Surfin' Safari" by the Beach Boys was a rip-off of Chuck Berry's "Sweet Little Sixteen," it was actually "Surfin' USA" that ripped off that Chuck Berry song. "Surfin' USA" was originally credited solely to Brian Wilson, but Chuck Berry's name was subsequently added as one of the songwriters.
