Lake Jesup: Bonecrusher's Revenge

Solid low budget film, marginally written, marginally well acted. The main guy (Quint stand in), isnt so bad, may look for him in other work. It has the same basic plot line along with 100 other creature terrorized town stories. JAWS did it best, and many have tried since. There are a decent blend of live animal action along with a puppet gator for the chomp scenes. The runtime isn't bad either, just long enough to not feel so bad about sitting through to the end. Sidenote: Listed as just "Gator Lake", on my Prime, in IL, USA.

Plenty of scares, an actual good story and enough laughs to remind you that movies don't have to be overinflated. Gator Lake gets out of the gate fast, and doesn't let up. Florida swamplands are not new to movies, but here lend an additional level of atmosphere to the proceedings.

Cast is uniformly engaging, with special props to Derek Russo as protagonist Bubba, sleazy Gator Galaxy owner Jeff Benninghofen, Sarah Voigt & Michael Houston King, who knows how to take his crooked mayor character just far enough.

Direction, crew work, production values and score are all first-rate.

Frankly, a lot more fun than any new dinosaur entry.

If its a alligator or croc movie it catches my attention, but man was I surprised. I wasn't sure what to expect considering all the low budget cheese out there with real bad CGI.

Yeah i have seen dozens of movies with this theme, however this is the best since Lake Placid and Blood Surf!

I am usually csutious when i see the same person as Writer and Director, but here King really rocked it! Good story, good cast, a genuine bad ass lead in Derek Russo, great camera work, effects, killer sound track, there just isn't a thing I didn't like.

Ok, Lake Jessup in Florida has a killer alligator running up the body count. The Mayor brings in an ex-con to hunt it down. The areas other problem is a local businessman who owns a gator park and has issues with the ex-con. Awesome movie, streamed it on Amazon, really hope it makes it to blu ray!

I put this movie on simply to kill some time. Surprisingly it was better than expected. Now, this is somewhat of a typical B movie creature feature. My rating of this flick takes that into account. What this movie has going for it: the characters are mostly believable and help keep one engaged in the movie. The acting is consistent throughout the movie and for the most part is pretty good. The storyline is fairly straight forward (like most creature features). The movie has an awesome soundtrack that helps with the overall flow of the movie. The negatives: Like most creature features little effort is given to give much depth to the characters, with the exception of the protagonist. The flick definitely needed more creature for this creature feature to give some intensity. Overall, it's entertaining, with a bit of humor.
