If you ever watched The Song Remains The Same, which was the Led Zeppelin concert film from 1976, you might remember that part of the story was that the band was robbed of $200,000.00 when they stayed at the Drake Hotel during their Madison Square Garden concerts.
This horrible rip-off really fleeces Led Zeppelin by marginally connecting a generic story about a guy who finds a bag of money in his deceased Mother's house, to the legendary robbery of Led Zeppelin. But nothing is actually connected at all. It is just hinted at. His Mother's friend tells him that his Mother was a "professional groupie" for bands that stayed at the Drake Hotel. Any son wants to hear that news. That is the end of the investigation. A whole lotta nothing.
Five minutes of this 14 minutes film are spent dealing with two people trying to burglarize the home of the Mother's friend, just a waste of time. I guess otherwise it would have been a nine minute movie.
Perhaps the most offensive part of this total rip-off is that not even one sound from any Led Zeppelin song is played. The entire fourteen minutes features some music that sounds like it was ripped off from the Allman Brothers or Molly Hatchet. In other words, even the Allman Brothers got ripped off.
Totally disappointing, it ends without any kind of resolution, and none of the dots are connected. I felt fleeced that I watched this.
