See You Next Wednesday

In this episode, the queens are challenged to create a look from scratch under the category of Neo-Gothic. For this, they are offered black fabrics and accessories, and they are allowed to use their own wigs, shoes, and undergarments.

There are situations that, according to the rules of the competition, are very unfair without implying any kind of sanction. Nevertheless, it is an episode with many displays of affection and mutual support among the queens.

The tension throughout the episode is very high, and the final result is one of the worst decisions in the show's herstory. I really mean it: it's a before and after on the show.

Honestly it's just "Addams Family" and "Elvira", this isn't Goth. The looks were mostly great. Q reminded me of Johnny Slut (Specimen), kind of Alien Sex Fiend. Dawn, Nymphia and Plane were great.

Bottom two were undoubtedly in the bottom.

I'm annoyed Mia was safe because backflip, again. It's boring and she doesn't bring anything to this competition. She's sitting in someone else's place on this show. I'm annoyed that Mia got carried. To be honest she should have gone home weeks ago, She's not on the same level. Someone else created the garment for her, I feel like that goes against the challenge and she should have been eliminated on that alone.

Most annoying thing for me tho was that nobody knows what Goth is. It's a MUSIC based genre, that came out of Post-Punk. They had a Goth week and used a Lady Gaga song for the lip sync??? Really? I feel like Siouxsie and The Banshees would have been a good fit. They had options.

The episode seemed like a parody.

A great episode that is a fun watch from start to finish. Very refreshing season: the queen who clearly wins the lip sync each week is the one who's staying. Excellent looks, too! Another successful week for a successful season. Drag talent on display!

The winner of the maxi challenge this episode is well deserved. While the style she went for isn't one I'm super fond of, the artistry and craftsmanship carries it through to the top spot.

As a fan of drag first, and of reality TV second, this episode, and the rest of the season, is giving me everything I want.

I really struggle with this episode. As a stand-alone I think maybe it's just below passable - every queen is entertaining and the banter is cute but the challenge is... not it. The judges don't seem to really know what they're looking for, asking for goth but preferring what is essentially high fashion clothes in black and white. Contestants aren't penalised for not participating in the challenge - if you can't sew, that's fine, but you deserve to lose the sewing challenge! The lip sync song choice was awful... and I struggled to enjoy the rushed, reused petal reveal and the lack of second wig or even comedy moment to pair with it. With all that said, the same queen gave a great performance that deserved to stay. However, this is not consistent with judging in the rest of the season, where a better performer has been sent home in favour of track record. It's really frustrating because production has clearly made choices to show queens in a bad light and then keep them around, knowing the hate they will receive. If we're keeping people with better track records, let's do it every time. If we're keeping the better lip syncer, let's do it every time. It's a shame because this season has been stellar, but this episode just has so many shortcomings and strange decisions made that it's tough to enjoy.
